Board of Directors “Artful Action” Workshop

Marcy-workshopIn a single day, Marcy will help your board members gain an appreciation for the relationship-building process of long-term thoughtful development work, and help them more clearly see their role in raising money.

Additionally, Marcy will help your board members gain more comfort in participating in the major gift development process. Board members and your leadership and staff will also gain a deeper understanding of who does what in the process.

What’s Included

  • Pre-training session with leadership to identify specific outcomes
  • 3-7 hour training program that includes both presentations and hands-on training, with step-by-step explanations of the actions to take in engaging, asking and providing proper stewardship for donors of all sizes specific to your organization. In longer sessions, more hands-on interaction jump starts your “artful actions”.
  • Post-training call with leadership to agree upon the follow up needed for successful implementation and assess the experience.
  • Key team members receive complimentary membership to the Major Gift Success Club for one year for continuous connection with Marcy
  • Marcy’s book, Empowering Your Board to Serve as Effective Development Ambassadors, is available for all participants at a reduced rate.

Major Gift Makeover Board Coaching Program

board_trainingIn four to six months, depending on your needs, Marcy will work with your leadership and board to create and implement a personalized plan for reaching your fundraising goals. Marcy work may include a determination of the gaps in your overall development program, a survey of key stakeholders to determine current attitudes and impressions, and hands-on board training to help board members gain an appreciation for the relationship-building process of long-term thoughtful development work. At the first meeting with leadership and staff, specific outcomes for the overall consulting relationship are identified and timelines are created.

What’s Included

  • Personal counsel with Marcy each month for 4-6 months, depending on your organization’s needs
  • The Artful Action Board workshop content in one or more sessions. After each session, action steps will be outlined by Marcy to be completed by the next session ensuring implementation
  • Email and phone support, membership in the Artful Asking Success Club and a special rate for Marcy’s book.
